What After NEET-UG Result 2022?
In India, the aspiration of becoming a doctor often follows a series of hardship, devotion, determination and continuous face-offs with testing times. This often results in thousands and lakhs of aspirers quitting or switching even before starting their journey to fulfil their dreams. One such obstacle, faced by most aspiring medical students in the country is the inadequate number of available seats in India. Even after the Indian government has been rigorously working to establish new training centres, hospitals and colleges, the number of available seats still falls short in ratio to the aspiring as well as qualified students.
This shortcoming of resources has caused a rapid increase in aggressive & combative competition among the students. This rat race is also known to result in extreme stress among students.
In a recent series of events, the National Testing Agency (NTA) released the much-awaited results for NEET-UG 2022. An estimated 18,72,343 students had registered for the exam, from which 17,64,571 appeared, out of which 9,93,069 students qualified and gained the eligibility to pursue their dream of becoming successful doctors.
Taking into consideration the results of this year, at present, the country has approximately 600 medical institutions (private and government included) that offer medical seats to approximately 91,645 students. Keeping aside the count of approximately 44,365 medical seats in approximately 300 private medical colleges all over India, the quality medical education that is affordable too is out of reach to a major percentage of the students.
The question arises, with such a limited number of available seats, what is next for the students who have qualified for NEET-UG 2022?
Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), is another statutory body governing medical education in India and is responsible to oversee the counselling process related to various levels & categories of medical studies. With NEET UG results announced, MCC is likely to announce the schedule for the upcoming rounds of counselling and complete the admissions in the medical colleges of India, soon.
All the students who have qualified for the NEET-UG 2022 with promising scores, can certainly look forward to attending the counselling session.

The past few years have also seen a current uprising among the number of students choosing to study MBBS abroad.
2. Look Out For Opportunities with MBBS Abroad
One of the latest trends among the pursuers of medical education, studying MBBS abroad offers not only another chance to accomplish the dream of becoming a doctor but also makes affordable and quality education accessible to all.
MBBS in Russia, MBBS in Bangladesh, MBBS in Guyana, etc have witnessed a rapid increase over the past few years due to their affordability, recognition and reputation. This could be due to the increased awareness among the younger generation of aspiring doctors or the exponential cut-throat competition for the limited number of seats. There could be many reasons and estimations for the same.
For the students who have qualified for the NEET exam but are unable to join counselling or those who are unsure of their score and their chances, studying MBBS abroad is certainly a great option. With a highly advanced educational infrastructure, the top medical universities abroad offer the best global opportunities to aspiring medical students of India.
Why study MBBS abroad & not settle down for alternative medicine/other courses in India?
1. Reputation:
Medicine is one of the noblest professions since the history of mankind. In Indian society, it is a matter of immense pride for not only the individual but also their kin. Most of the students have worked hard and had aimed to become a doctor since a very young age. Wearing a white coat is not a dream for a single night but for several years.
No profession is small, in the medical study each form of role, be it of Dentist, a researcher, a pharmacist, an Ayurvedic doctor, a homoeopathic doctor, or even a lab technician etc, is vital. But if your efforts, interests, and devotion lie in being an MBBS doctor, no other robe, other than white would suit you.
2. Opportunities:
The mainstream study of medicine offers a broad spectrum of opportunities and helps you not only accomplish your dream of becoming a doctor but also aids in its continuous growth and nurturing. Though the research and development in the other concerned fields are also happening, it is not as dynamic.
Therefore, studying MBBS offers more diverse opportunities and specialisations to its pursuers.
The post-pandemic world further demands a significant number of devoted doctors to serve humanity.
3. Your Hardwork:
If the student has worked hard to accomplish their goal of becoming a doctor and conquered all the checkpoints in between, giving up at the final stop does not make sense. It is important to place value on all the hard work and not settle for anything else.
If you are stubborn enough to pursue your passion, MBBS abroad gives you an opportunity to take on the final leap toward your dream.
